Deformity's AI adapts to the information you provide. By defining a clear purpose, outlining precise points, adding helpful snippets, and choosing a personality, you can tailor the conversation to perfectly match your audience.
Define the Purpose
The Purpose field describes what you want to achieve with your form. The AI uses this short statement as context when generating questions, so keep it focused and informative.
🚨 Important: The Purpose field is inserted directly into the AI's system prompt (its core instruction). That means it can have a major impact on how the form behaves: what questions are asked, how they're phrased, and what tone is used. Make sure your Purpose includes clear guidance for how the AI should respond in the conversation.
Pro tip: You can edit the Purpose anytime, even after generating your form. It saves automatically. As long as you don't click “Generate” again, all of your points stay the same, and your next publish will reflect the updated instructions.
Create Clear Points
Points are the questions or prompts the AI will ask in order. Each point collects a single piece of information.
- Keep them short and direct.
- Use logic to control how the AI flows between points. Even small tweaks to your logic instructions can change the tone, structure, or behavior of the form, so it's worth refining.
Add Snippets
Snippets supply extra context that the AI should keep in mind throughout the conversation. Use them for brand guidelines, background information, or key reminders.
Snippets are best for providing context to the AI. For example, do you want the AI to be able to tell your customers your store's hours? Here's where you could provide that information.
Choose a Personality
The personality determines the tone of the AI's responses. Select the style that best suits your form.
- Friendly: warm and encouraging—great for casual audiences.
- Curious: asks follow-up questions to learn more.
- Professional: clear and courteous.
- Humorous: witty and playful.
- Short & Sweet: brief and to the point. May not ask questions other than what you provided.
To use a custom personality, leave Friendly as the default and provide clear guidance for the AI in the Purpose field: "You have a X personality. This personality..."

- Set the purpose for your form.
- Enter the points in the order you want them asked.
- Add any snippets to provide extra context.
- Select a personality to match your tone.
Test your form and adjust these settings until the AI interacts exactly how you want.
